MEDIUM: Photography
ARTIST STATEMENT: These images are originally from a series of 10 images that told a story about nature and season. The essay reflected fall with many moments of change captured. It is mainly plants and environment captured, but it can still tell a story.

Zebra Print

MEDIUM: Digital
ARTIST STATEMENT: This is the only piece that I have ever made by using pre-made vector art. The point of this piece was to convey a concept and a play on words. The poster is supposed to have a fun theme, with a fun logo. The zebra vector was altered to fit the surreal theme of the poster. (And I found out that Zebra is actually a print company !!!)

Algorithm

MEDIUM: Drawing / Digital
ARTIST STATEMENT: This piece is a typographical image that was created to be perfectly symmetrical. The poster is titled "Algorithm" and the rest of the type is the definition of the word. The theme of this piece is balance through words and the traced image is just an added effect to give the viewer's eyes a break.

The Girl With One Eye

MEDIUM: Drawing / Digital
ARTIST STATEMENT: This poster was designed to fit the movie genre, science fiction. The drawing is a quick sketch based on the song "The Girl With One Eye" by Florence + The Machine. The poster is supposed to look welcoming with the colour, but then present an eerie feeling once one looks further into the piece.

The Adventure

ARTIST STATEMENT: The film "The Adventure" could have undoubtedly had a much better name, however the poster and film basically describe the title. "The Adventure" is an abstract love story and the main concept is only following the feet of the main character. Never once in the film are faces shown. With music permission from many different groups such as Crystal Castles, Yacht and Ghostland Observatory, one can easily say that "The Adventure" is a lot like a music video. Anyone who is willing to watch a short, abstract film will surely love "The Adventure"

Meat Is Murder

ARTIST STATEMENT: Using design and layout, the objective of this piece is to convey a message about animal rights. What is stated in the article is also drawn out into the design and layout. As this was my first spread, it has many typographical errors (design-wise, not spelling), but I chose to display it based on concept and layout creativity.

ARTIST STATEMENT: The concept of this poster is to not only relate with the spread, but to relate to the viewer. This piece is built up with different levels. The first one being the image, to draw a viewer in and grab their attention. The second level includes the main title, "Meat Is Murder" and the third stage is a small message written in red that says "U R Not God". The last level is meant to make the viewer reflect on their position in life, where they believe that they have control over everything and everyone.

ARTIST STATEMENT: This piece was created to emphasize unity between multiple pieces of work. All three pages are made from completely different mediums such as original photography and vector art, yet all look similar with a consistent theme.
